Phish to play Bonnaroo ’09!

December 16, 2008

phish-larger-logoRolling Stone:

Bonnaroo, the East Coast’s premiere multi-day, multi-stage gathering of the vibes (held in Manchester, Tennessee from June 11th to 14th) usually doesn’t release its lineup until early February — but RollingStone.com hears from reliable sources close to Phish that the band will top the bill for two nights, restoring the fest to its jam-friendly roots. It would be the fifth time frontman Trey Anastasio appears on the ‘Roo stage, having performed as a solo artist in 2002 and 2004, with bandmate Mike Gordon in 2006 and alongside Matisyahu in 2005. Phish announced their official reunion and first public gigs in four years (their March 6-9th Hampton, Virginia shows) in early October; reps for the band and the fest declined comment for this story. Also being buzzed about with some legitimacy: Bruce Springsteen as Sunday night’s closer. No pressure, but there is a deadline approaching for pre-sale tickets and VIP packages. (more…)

ledzeppelinledzeppelinihz2After checking out Rose Hill Drive this past October, I really wish we could make their 12/31/08 show in Boulder, CO. Apparently they are going to perform Led Zep’s 1969, Led Zeppelin II in its entireity at the Boulder Theater.

l_0c1aed62331d4279a42535a06e96dbbbWant to dine with Diane and Al Schnier at their home? Today may be your lucky day then. Head over to BaseMental Records to check out the new release from Diane and Al, The Fool. Whilst there, enjoy the tracks cut entirely by the husband-wife duo and register to win a home cooked meal at the Schnier’s home. Here’s more on the album:

The Fool is a diverse instrumental project, containing 14 original
songs, with piano as the common thread. Some of the other sounds that
come and go throughout the album come from electric sitar, harmonica,
drums, beats, mandolin, banjo, bells, trumpet, acoustic & electric
guitar, bass, moog, melotron, farfisa, solina, optigan, carrillon, B3
& a tel ray toxic oil can. Al & Diane play all the instruments as
well as produced the album.
